A Quality Controller is responsible for ensuring that a finished product meets the original specifications, and providing the sign-off that a manufactured component matches the requirements set out in the technical documentation.

I used to work as a subcontractor at CNIM. When I was given the opportunity to join the Group, I didn’t hesitate for a second, given the great wealth and variety of its business activities. My profession requires a rigorous, precise and methodological approach. It is essential to maintain good contact with all the teams as our tasks and results are closely linked.

Methods Engineer

A Methods Engineer provides the designs for the Methods Department, which liaises with both the design teams and the construction site. The role involves the technical aspects of the methodology and schedulling of works, along with management of costs, budgets and staff, with the aim of improving productivity, cost control and quality.

I was hired after completing my end-of-studies internship. I work on international projects, such as the ITER reactor’s radial plates and the Chernobyl membranes. My job is comprehensive and varied: I work on tool design, programming machine tools and CAM software automation, and I manage a team.

A Methods Technician optimizes the production operations, taking account of the following parameters: regulatory standards, quality, costs and timescales.

CNIM is constantly changing: the installed base of machines is renewed regularly, we are seeking out new lines of business, and the working environment is extremely fulfilling. I work on unusual components, so I have to be precise, rigorous and organized. I appreciate the freedom I have been granted, especially in terms of choosing technical solutions.

My job covers the entire scope of manufacturing. I am in contact with all units and could be compared to a conductor of an orchestra! At CNIM, innovation is everywhere: both in products and in processes. To solve a problem, I have to use my ingenuity because our products are unique.

My job enables me to be in contact with all departments of the company for organizing, planning and putting together the elements that are necessary for implementing client order intake. I appreciate the close relationship I have with my colleagues and the degree of autonomy available to me, as well as the wide variety of projects run by CNIM.

I work on the radial plates for the ITER reactor. This huge international project involves a great many responsibilities: an error in the settings could damage a component or disrupt the client’s business activity, not to mention the financial consequences! By allowing me to work on such a project, my management has placed its trust in me.
