Bertin Technologies, a CNIM Group subsidiary, has entered into exclusive negotiations for the acquisition of Winlight
October 19, 2017 - Bertin Technologies has entered into exclusive negotiations with Winlight’s shareholders for the acquisition of 100% of the company share capital.
The transaction, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2017, is contingent upon the signing of a final agreement following consultation of Bertin Technologies employee-representative bodies.
Winlight is a French company specialized in the design and manufacturing of components and systems for high-performance optics.
Winlight, headquartered close to Bertin’s site in Aix-en-Provence, was founded in 2001. The company mainly operates in the Astronomy, Big Science, Space and Defense industries. It features a world-class state-of-the art technical expertise in the design and manufacturing of complex optical systems and an unique know-how in precision optical polishing systems.
This operation would thus strengthen CNIM’s and Bertin Technologies’ product portfolio of high performance mechanical and optical systems that are used in research reactors, synchrotrons, telescopes as well as in major defense and space programs.
Further to the acquisition of Saphymo, the French leader of nuclear instrumentation, in 2015, and the acquisition of the Swedish company Exensor in July 2017, Winlight’s acquisition also aims at consolidating the position of Bertin Technologies among the world leaders of high-technology sensors and instrumentation systems.
Winlight and its subsidiaries are owned by their two founders, Philippe Godefroy and Daniel Soler as well as by Sofipaca (a Crédit Agricole subsidiary), which invested in the capital in 2002 and has supported the steady profitable development of the company relying on 40 highly qualified people.
